Johanna Lundy, Horn and Hsin-Chih Chang, Piano
"Luminous" - August 15, 2PM

This recital celebrates composers with the ability to radiate light through sound: from sparkling Dukas, to playful Francaix, to the ebullient Vignery Sonata, the centerpiece of this program. Featuring composers from France and Belgium, the music is influenced by similar styles, yet each piece has its own distinct identity. Many of the composers had ties to each other: Jane Vignery and Elsa Barraine studied with Paul Dukas; Jean Francaix and Jane Vignery studied with legendary Nadia Boulanger. While growing in popularity, many of these works are still unknown to audiences. We hope you’ll join us for this program of bright and expressive music!
